Exploring Zhuhai – China’s most ‘liveable’ city

Our trip to Zhuhai was unplanned. We had a day to spare in Guangzhou and out of sheer instinct decided to take a train ride. We checked the map and found an interesting city nearby – about an hour by train. We can easily catch the morning train, spend time in the city and return by evening.

We headed to the Goungzhounan railway station. It is a massive two storeyed one and resembles an airport. The metro is located below the station, making it very convenient.

We caught the 11 AM train to Zhuhai. It was a pleasant ride and we reached our destination in no time.

Zhuhai is popular for its proximity to Macau and Hong Kong. You can reach these cities through the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge. It is often ranked among China’s most livable cities with green spaces and low congestion.

We walked around the long and beautiful beach areas, drove around the city and made a quick stop at the shopping mall. A day well spent!
